This eloquent proclamation of horror and hope is by a former priest who has not only experienced every dimension and depth of this horror but has dedicated his life to attacking it head on. The author describes the what, why, and how of this toxic reality from the most accurate perspective: that of his own life of survival, of standing up to the massive ecclesiastical monarchy but most important, of doing what the ecclesiastical establishment could not and would not do, which is to bring the compassion and healing of Jesus Christ to its victims. This not just a horror story of the reality he has seen and lived. It is also a story of hope because of who he is and what he has done.

He is the co-founder of Road-to-Recovery, a nonprofit organization that offers compassionate counseling and referral services to survivors of sexual abuse. Launched in 2005 to provide direct assistance of victims of clergy sexual abuse, it has since expanded its mission to include survivors of all sexual abuse.
